On January 24, during a Dominican Winter League playoff game, Orioles farmhand Austin Wynns was on the back half of a double play, as he was caught at second on a line drive and injured his ankle and had to leave the game.

Wynns, who slashed .287/.336/.416/.751 while throwing out 45% of the runners who attempted to steal at three levels last year, was in line to get a major league spring training invite before the injury.

Wynns was diagnosed with a sprained ankle and may not be available until mid-March. He will most likely be the starting catcher for Bowie this year once healthy.
