Orioles hitters scored three times early to lead Tampa. That was quickly gone and they failed to score again losing 8-to-3 to the Tampa Bay Rays . Kevin Gausman allowed seven runs over two and two-thirds innings of work to fall to 3-4, 4.31 on the season.

The Orioles have now fallen to 17 and 36 for 2018, factional percentage points from the worst record in baseball.

It’s Memorial Day.

The only good news of the day was Tanner Scott pitching late in the game for a second consecutive day. He allowed a walk and a single but erased then with two ground outs.

Jon Schoop and Craig Gentry each had two hits on the day.  Schoop had a double.
