Trey Mancini had a day at the plate as a DH, Andrew Cashner failed as a fill in starter, and several defensive highlights marked the Orioles first real game of the 2019 season

Player of Game:
Trey Mancini of course!

Starting Pitching:
Andrew Cashner pitched into the fourth inning and was charged with six of the Yankees seven runs. He struggled with command, gave up a big three run first inning home run and was certainly not impressive. Cashner walked four and struck out three with six earned runs over four innings.

Highlighted hitting moments:
– In the 1st inning, second baseman Jonathan Villar singled to break up Yankee starter Masahiro Tanaka’s no hitter. He singled again to go 2-for-4.
– Trey Mancini went three-for-four with a double.
Chris Davis struck out three times from the seven hole of the lineup.

Highlighted pitching moments:
David Hess pitched two and a third scoreless innings allowing two walks and a single.

Highlighted defensive plays
– The Orioles infield turned three double plays. Richie Martin looked good at shortstop.
Joey Rickard made a catch.

He also made a throw like a teener baller.
