John Means short but effective start on his birthday put the Orioles in the position to win. The wild ride right up to the end made it one of the more enjoyable games of the season.

Starter

John Means struck out six, walked one over five innings of one run baseball. He is now 26. His 2019 ERA is 1.74.

Other Pitching

Evan Phillips was poor allowing a run in two thirds and potentially so much else with two walks and a HBP. Paul Fry was great for an inning and a third.
Mychal Givens got the save but Richie Martin earned it.

Hitting

Renato Nunez doubled and singled. Dwight Smith Jr. doubled. Stevie Wilkerson hit his first MLB homer.

Fielding

Renato Nunez made several nice plays at first base, an unnatural position
Richie Martin saved the game with the bases loaded. He reminded of a Roberto Alomar poetic dive spin and throw to preserve the contest.
