It was a great playoff atmosphere, marred by the sad ending.
It was nice to have this wonderful team back for the first home playoff game in 15 years.
A packed house sat through a two and a half hour rain delay before getting started
Hammel pitched well for 5 and a 2/3 innings giving up a run in the first and in the fourth.
The Orioles scored their two runs on Davis and Ford singles a sacrifice by Andino and a two run single by Nate McLouth.
A tension filled yard anticipated J.J. Johnson sitting the Yankees down in the ninth and going on for a walk off in the Orioles' half of the inning. It did not work out. Johnson gave up a home run to Martin and several singles and a double before Manager Buck Showalter removed him for Tommy Hunter. Five runs had scored before the Orioles batted and Lew Ford's double was wasted as the Orioles lost 7-2.
