ST Game 1 Summary
I might try to keep a running tally of who's had good games and bad games in ST, especially for any ST competition.
The Standouts
Chris Davis - The big man made 2 diving plays and a nice scoop and went 2-2 at the plate.
Nate McLouth - A ringing RBI double that may have been a 3-run HR in less windy conditions.
Trayvon Robinson - Hit the go ahead 2-run HR.
The Solid Efforts
Steve Johnson - One of the cleaner innings by any Oriole pitcher today, issuing one walk but retiring the other batters easily.
Zach Clark - Just the one hit in his scoreless inning.
Zach Britton - 2 hits, but they were pretty soft and B-Rob should have turned a double play on the second one.
Jonathan Schoop - Had an error that allowed a run, but hit an RBI single to tie it up later in the game. He also had a walk.
Manny Machado - Single, walk, and solid defense at 3B.
Try Again Next Time
Tommy Hunter - Coughed up a 2-run bomb to Willingham.
Todd Redmond - 2 walks in his scoreless inning, but not a good first impression.
TJ MacFarland - 2 hits and a walk in his inning, in which he allowed 1 run. Joe Angel noted he didn't look comfortable.
Dylan Bundy - Loaded 'em up, but squirmed out of it.
Other Notes
Navarro, Exposito, and Wieters all had doubles. Xavier Avery got a walk, but was picked off 1B. Chris Dickerson showed good hustle almost beating out an infield single and had a successful sacrifice bunt. JJ Hardy had a sac fly. No Oriole pitcher had a 1-2-3 inning, and all told they issued 7 walks. Fred Manfra had one fakeout home run call.
Baseball's back!!
