Orioles Win 7-to-3, climb to Three Games Behind

    Written by Michael Williams

The Orioles bullpen pitched five innings of scoreless relief of a floundering Wei-Yin Chen.

The Orioles scored seven runs in the seventh inning. New Oriole Mike Morse scored the first run and J.J. Hardy and Adam Jones both hit three run blasts.

Kevin Gausman recorded the win for his efforts out of the pen.

Francisco Rodriguez, Tommy Hunter, and Darren O'Day all recorded scoreless innings with various levels of excitement.

Wei-Yin Chen walked a tight rope from the start despite flashing a 94 mph fastball. And after the Orioles fell behind by three in the fourth inning, Buck Showalter wasted no time replacing him now that September baseball has started.

Manny Machado and Chris Davis combined for one of the finest plays of the season; Manny barehand and Davis stretched to maximum span.

The victory put the Orioles back ahead of the Yankees in the post season chase and left them only three games out of the final spot.

    Final Score 7-to-3
