    Adam Jones the leader

I was made aware of a situation that occurred this spring down in Sarasota and thought I'd share it with everyone because I thought it showed what kind of leader Adam Jones has become.

Three minor league players were in a local dive celebrating one of their birthdays and just happened to be seated next to Adam Jones and his group. Hellos, etc were exchanged and Jones was being nice to the minor league guys. Jones finished first, said goodbye and wish them good luck and left. When the minor league players went to get their check, Jones had picked up the tab for about $150 worth of Sushi and beer.

Now we all know $150 is no big deal to Adam Jones, but the gesture was certainly nice and appreciated by the players.

This is the quiet kind of leadership that makes good teams great.

Now hopefully when one of those players makes it to the big leagues, they'll remember how a big leaguer showed them some kindness without making a big deal about things.

Adam Jones is a great baseball player, but he showed he's an even better person and leader by his quiet actions to a couple of nondescript minor leaguers.
