Adam Jones hit two home runs and would not let the slender Orioles lead vanish. He is the Orioles Hangout player of the game.

MLB Baseball now goes to the All-Star Break.

Starting Pitching

Ubaldo Jimenez pitched with a lead until the third inning. A couple questionable strike calls and a missed double play ball and the Orioles five-run lead had slipped to only one.  In five innings Ubaldo allowed four runs, four hits, four walks and three strikeouts. He collected his fourth win of the season against four losses.

Relief Pitching

Richard Bleier allowed an unearned final run for the Twins. He pitched two and two-thirds innings of one-hit baseball.

Miguel Castro navigated the final out for Bleier.

Zach Britton pitched well in the ninth. Three batters, one strikeout.

Hitting

Seth Smith was on base four of his five appearances with three hits and a walk.

Adam Jones homered twice and drove in five runs.

Manny Machado and Caleb Joseph were both 2-for-5 with Joseph clubbing a double.

Ruben Tejada doubled.

Fielding

Ruben Tejada’s error at short allowed the fifth run to score.
