Ubaldo Jimenez Faces New Cub – Loses 8-0

There is news in the national sports media that the Orioles have been exploring trades for Zach Britton, Brad Brach, and Seth Smith. The final game of the series versus the World Champions had Ubaldo Jimenez facing the newest Cub, Jose Quintana.

Starting Pitching

Ubaldo Jimenez pitched into the fourth inning today. He allowed six earned runs and struck out two. He walked one.

Relief Pitching

Donnie Hart pitched two scoreless innings.

Mychal Givens Pitched a scoreless inning and a third.

Trade candidate Zach Britton pitched the eighth. He allowed a single to start off the inning. He induced two ground outs, advancing the runner to third. He walked Jon Jay. Ben Zobrist grounded out. He threw 18 pitches and 11 were strikes.

Darren O’Day took the mound for the ninth. He allowed two runs. He’s not getting traded.


Jose Quintana allowed two hits through the first six innings. Adam Jones and Welington Castillo. Jon Schoop singled in the seventh.


The Orioles made two double plays. Joey Rickard also threw a man out at the plate.
