Orioles Acquire Hellickson for Cleavinger, Kim and Slot

The Orioles announced tonight that they have acquired RHP JEREMY HELLICKSON and cash considerations from the Philadelphia Phillies in exchange for OF HYUN SOO KIM, minor league LHP GARRETT CLEAVINGER, and International Signing Bonus Slots.

Hellickson, 30, has gone 6-5 with a 4.73 ERA (59 ER/112.1 IP) over 20 starts with the Phillies this season. Over 194 career Major League games (187 starts), he has posted a 67-63 record with a 3.98 ERA (481 ER/1087.1 IP) and 803 strikeouts. The right-hander led the Phillies in wins (12), and finished second in starts (32), innings pitched (189.0 IP), and Quality Starts (17) last season.
