Zac Lowther gave up 1 run on 2 hits with 3 walks and 8 strikeouts over 6.0 innings pitched.  Despite the quality start he took the loss and evened his record at 4-4. He is the Orioles Hangout MiLB Player of the Day.

NORFOLK TIDES (23-30) WON 8-7 OVER LOUISVILLE – AAA

  • Ryan Mountcastle went 2 for 5 with 1 run scored, 1 homerun, 1 RBI and 1 strikeout.  His homerun resulted in a walk-off win.
  • Keegan Akin gave up 4 runs on 8 hits with 1 walk, 5 strikeouts and 1 homerun allowed over 5.0 innings.  He did not factor into the decision.

BOWIE BAYSOX (19-35) LOST 3-1 TO HARTFORD – AA

  • Preston Palmeiro went 1 for 3 with 1 run scored, 1 homerun, 1 RBI and 2 strikeouts.
  • Pedro Araujo gave up 1 walk and struck out 1 over 1.0 inning of relief pitched.

FREDERICK KEYS (28-26) LOST GAME 1 4-0 AND WON GAME 2 9-2 OVER LYNCHBURG – A (ADV.)

GAME 1

  • Yusniel Diaz went 1 for 3.
  • Blaine Knight gave up 4 runs on 6 hits with 4 walks and 4 strikeouts in losing his 1st game of the season for the Keys.  He is a combined 3-1 on the season.

GAME 2

  • Willy Yahn went 4 for 5 with 2 runs scored, 1 double and 3 RBI.
  • Brenan Hanifee gave up 2 unearned runs on 2 hits with 4 walks, 2 strikeouts and 1 wild pitch over 5.2 innings pitched.  The win evened his season’s record at 4-4.

DELMARVA SHOREBIRDS (42-12) WON 5-3 AT GREENVILLE – A (LOW)

  • Seamus Curran went 2 for 5 with 1 run scored, 1 homerun, 1 RBI and 2 strikeouts.
  • Zach Matson gave up no runs and 1 hit with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts over 2.1 innings of relief pitched.  He was credited with the win, improving his record to 4-0.
