On a hot Saturday (91 degrees) in Baltimore, a chill came over Birdland as John Means left the game after throwing 29 pitches. Means sort of shook his left arm and moved it awkwardly after allowing an Eddie Rosario single. Trainer Brian Ebel and Manager Brandon Hyde came to the mound and shortly removed him for what was being called left shoulder fatigue. Means will undergo a MRI on Sunday.

The final score was 10-4 in favor of the Cleveland Indians and the modest three game winning streak was over.

While on the mound, Means surrendered homeruns to Cesar Hernandez and Harold Ramirez and finished with a line of 0.2 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 1 K and took the loss.

Cedric Mullins was the star of the day. Not only did the centerfielder make a highlight worthy diving catch of a Hernandez line drive in the 4th inning, he went 5 for 5 at the plate with 2 homeruns, 3 runs scored and 2 RBI.

Trying to keep up with Mullins, Ryan Mountcastle went 2 for 3 with a double, a homerun, 1 run scored and 1 RBI.

Freddy Galvis contributed a 2 for 4, 1 RBI day at the plate.

Cleveland essentially put the game out of reach by tagging reliever Adam Plutko, who came in the game for Means, for 5 runs, 1 earned (a Yu Chang homerun), on 4 hits over 2.0 innings. Plutko also walked 1 and struck out 3.

It was a Stevie Wilkerson (0 for 4) error in the 3rd inning that helped open the flood gates.

Three relievers, Travis Lakins, Sr., Cesar Valdez and Dillon Tate, finished out the game and each gave up 1 run on 2 hits.

2021 Record: 20-38
