The Orioles lost 4-2 to the Tampa Bay Rays in Tropicana Field on Friday. The Birds certainly were not the same team that scored a total of 28 runs on 37 hits combined over two consecutive games earlier this week.

Tampa pitching held the Orioles to just 3 hits, one a two run homerun by Trey Mancini (1 for 3, 1 run scored, 2 RBI, 1 BB).

Anthony Santander (1 for 4) and Pedro Severino (1 for 3) produced the other Baltimore hits.

Starter Keegan Akin (4.0 IP, 3 R, 5 H, 3 BB, 2 K) gave up a two run homerun to Brandon Lowe in the fourth inning and was tagged with the loss.

Rule 5 pick up Tyler Wells continues to pitch well out of the bullpen, The right-hander gave up 2 hits and struck out 3 over 2.0 scoreless innings of relief. He has now struck out 35 batters over 29.1 innings this season.
