Four errors were recorded by the Orioles in Tuesday’s 7-2 loss to the Cleveland; two were throwing and two were fielding. Losing isn’t pretty and the Baltimore defense added to the ugliness. The offense doesn’t get a pass either; despite 7 hits, the Orioles were 0 for 5 with runners in scoring position. As it stands now, the Orioles have lost 6 games in a row as well as 17 straight on the road.

As bad as it is right now, there aren’t as bad as they are in Arizona. The Diamondbacks have lost 12 straight games overall and have lost 21 straight on the road. If you’re keeping score, the Orioles are three games behind the Diamondbacks for the #1 draft pick in 2022 and only one game ahead of the Pittsburgh Pirates for that pick.

Now to the game. Matt Harvey started and couldn’t make it out of the fourth inning. He exited after the Indians scored their third run of the inning and finished with a loss, his eighth. Harvey allowed 6 runs, 5 earned, on 6 hits while walking 2 and striking out 2 over 3.1 innings pitched.

Stevie Wilkerson had just as tough of a night as Harvey. The second baseman went 0 for 4 at the plate and committed the two fielding errors. It was his first inning error that led to the Indians’ unearned run.

Going 2 for 4, Freddy Galvis scored one run while Cedric Mullins (1 for 3, 1 BB) scored the other. Mullins also committed one of the throwing errors.

Maikel Franco went 1 for 4 with a double, 1 RBI and a throwing error.

Dillon Tate had a nice relief outing, facing 7 batters while pitching the final 1.2 innings of the game and recording 1 walk and 1 strikeout.

2021 Record: 22-44
