The Baltimore Orioles road losing streak hit 19 straight games Thursday, the same day that the Arizona Diamondbacks broke the MLB record of 23 straight road losses. Misery loves company.

The Orioles 10-3 loss to the Cleveland Indians extended the current losing streak to 8 games. One thing is certain, the road streak is on hold; the Orioles return to Baltimore for a six game homestand.

Cleveland out-homered the Orioles 4-3 and out-hit them as well 13-8. The team got homeruns off the bats of Austin Hays (1 for 4, 1 R, 1 RBI) and Maikel Franco (1 for 4, 1 R, 1 RBI). Austin Wynns (1 for 4) doubled and scored a run.

Trey Mancini and Ryan Mountcastle both had 2 hits, one of Mancini’s knocked in Wynns. Anthony Santander (1 for 4) accounted for the team’s other hit.

Jorge Lopez started, pitched 4.1 innings and took the loss. He allowed 5 runs on 7 hits while walking 1, striking out 3 and allowing 3 homeruns. Dillon Tate looked good again in relief, allowing 1 hit over 2.0 innings. He walked 1 and struck out 3.

Cole Sulser (0.2 IP, 2 R, 2 H, 1BB) and Mac Sceroler (1.0 IP, 3 R, 2 H, 1 BB, 1 HR allowed) did not look as good as Tate.

2021 Record: 22-46
