In a game that looked over after one inning, the Baltimore Orioles were shutout 9-0 by the Toronto Blue Jays in Buffalo Thursday night. The road losing streak is now at 20 straight games.

Dean Kremer made the start and did not make it through one inning. The right-hander started his outing by issuing a free pass to Marcus Semien and ended it with a free pass to Joe Panik. In between those walks he gave up a grand slam homerun to Lourdes Gurriel, Jr. Kremer’s line was 6 runs on 2 hits with 5 walks in one-third of an inning. Following the loss, Kremer’s record is now 0-7.

Adam Plutko relieved Kremer and added gas to the fire. The hurler allowed 3 runs on 5 hits, including a 438 foot bomb off the bat of Vladimir Guerrero, Jr. In all, Plutko gave up 3 runs on 5 hits while striking out 2 over 2.2 innings.

Travis Lakins, Sr. (4.0 IP, 1 H, 3 K) and Paul Fry (1.0 IP, 2 H, 2 K) brought some semblance of order to the proceedings.

The Orioles bats were held to 7 hits. Pedro Severino went 2 for 4 with a double and Ryan Mountcastle went 1 for 2 with 2 walks. Cedric Mullins added a 1 for 4, 1 walk effort.

Trey Mancini, Austin Hays and Maikel Franco each went 1 for 4 to account for the remainder of the Orioles hits.

Ten runners left on base and 0 for 9 with runners in scoring position is not a recipe for winning, obviously.
